YSB receives Lilly Matching Grant for Endowment

Posted: Friday, July 17, 2015

The Youth Services Bureau has received a Lilly Endowment Matching Grant through the Huntington County Community Foundation for fund enhancement. Funds contributed between now and November 20, 2015 through these efforts will receive a Lilly match of a $1 for every $2 raised by the agency.

“When this opportunity arose, we had a couple who are generous supporters pledge $5,000 and challenged the agency to raise an additional $5,000. With the Lilly match, that would increase the current fund balance by $15,000”, stated Jan Williams, executive director.

The Youth Services Bureau has been providing programs that address the needs of children, youth and families in Huntington since 1987. The agency provides 17 different programs which include but not limited to: Safe Place & Host Home, Students out of School (SOS), Teen Court, teen suicide prevention, Tools for Life (school supplies), anger management and Skills for Life.

“The enhanced endowment would help the agency ensure their ability to meet the needs of young people and their families in Huntington County for years to come,” shared Kent Farthing, board of director’s co-president.

Contributions need to be made out directly to the Huntington County Community Foundation with the Youth Services Bureau match on the memo line. Checks should be mailed to: Huntington County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 5037, Huntington, Indiana 46750.
