YSB needs $1,400 to reach Lilly Grant goal

Posted: Friday, October 23, 2015

The Youth Services Bureau received a Lilly Endowment Matching Grant through the Huntington County Community Foundation for fund enhancement earlier this year. The opportunity exists to raise the Youth Services Bureau’s Endowment fund by $15,000. In order to receive the Lilly Matching Funds the agency needs to raise $10,000 by November 20, 2015. With generous support from the community the YSB has raised $8,600 thus far. But the community’s help is needed to achieve the goal of raising $10,000.

The YSB has been providing services to Huntington County since 1987 and funding has always been a concern.  The enhanced endowment would help the agency ensure their ability to meet the needs of young people and their families in Huntington County for years to come.

The YSB believes they are truly blessed to have such a caring community with strong support from churches, civic groups, businesses and individuals that support their efforts. The YSB could not do what they do daily without this support. Programs such as Safe Place & Host Homes, suicide prevention efforts, Students Out of School, On Your Way Up and the other programs offered by the agency would have a much more difficult time meeting the needs of Huntington’s young people and their families.

To help the YSB and the youth and families of the community send contributions directly to: Huntington County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 5037, Huntington, Indiana 46750. Mark on the memo: YSB Lilly Match.
