Youth Services Bureau thanks Huntington County

Posted: Friday, August 19, 2016

The Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County would like to say a huge thank you to all of those who helped with this year’s “Tools for Life” school supply program. Over 580 students received the supplies they needed to start the school year. This program depends solely on community support. Without the many caring businesses, churches, civic groups and individuals donating, the YSB would not be able to meet this need.

There are so many the YSB wishes to thank for their generous donations. Thank you to those who served as a collection site over the past year. Those businesses were: Walmart, Dr. Geders-Huntington Chiropractic, Pace Chevrolet and Continental Structural Plastics (CSP). Thanks also goes to Rotary, Love INC, Metro Kiwanis, Women of the Moose, Eagles Auxiliary 828, Faith Community Church, Boy Scout Troop #3607 and Zion U.M. Church for their fantastic support.

Huge thanks also goes to Mary Brooks, JoEllen Allen, Carolyn Bitzer and Keith and Mary Ann Eller for their generous donations. The YSB would also like to thank all of the anonymous supporters who contributed to the collection barrels placed around Huntington County and who dropped off supplies and funds to the office. The YSB was blessed to have volunteers who helped fill all of the student’s bags. Special thanks go to Kerstyn Street, Jalen Rice, Emily Mead, Bethany Brunner and Kayla Brunner. The YSB had the great pleasure of working with Bekah Brunner from Girl Scout Troop #20042 who helped organize and coordinate the Tools for Life program this year. Please forgive the YSB if they have inadvertently omitted anyone who donated an item and were omitted, they greatly appreciate your support.

Even though the main distribution is at the beginning of the school year, the YSB can also provide students with school supplies throughout the year. School supplies can be requested by calling the agency at (260) 356-9681. Donations of school supplies or monetary donations for supplies are accepted year round which allows the YSB to continue to meet this need.

Those who would like to learn more about this program or any of the programs offered by the Youth Services Bureau, please call or email questions to adm@ysbofhutningtonco.org or visit the website at www.ysbofhuntingtonco.org.

Thank you Huntington for being such a caring community!
