Youth Services Bureau in need of used clothing

Posted: Friday, May 15, 2020

The “On Your Way Up” incentive store offered by the Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County is in need of gently used, clean infant and children clothing up to size five.

“We are in desperate need of infant and toddler boy’s spring and summer clothes. We also need children’s hangers,” said Sarah Brunner, YSB staff.

Other items that are always needed are diapers, baby wipes, safety items and educational toys.

“The items in the store are obtained with points that the parents earn by making healthy life choices for themselves and their children. These activities include: well-baby check-ups, attending parenting classes, participating in story hour, etc.” said Ira Bencun, program coordinator.

Gently used clothing can also be exchanged at the store. In 2019, over 75 families utilized the program. To make a donation, contact the office at (260) 356-9681 to schedule a time. Monetary donations are tax deductible and can be mailed to: Youth Services Bureau, 1344 Maple Drive, Huntington, IN 46750. Due to the liability concerns, used car seats and baby furniture cannot be accepted. Please realize the agency can only accept items geared for children and do not have the capability to accept adult clothing, household items, etc.
