Posted: Friday, June 14, 2019

Helping Hands Community Garden has some upcoming events for the public. Saturday, June 22 will be Yoga in the Garden, a continuation of our Saturdays in the Garden, occurring on the fourth Saturday of each month through October. There will be two classes, the first one at 10 a.m., and the second at 11 a.m. The cost will be $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. This is for beginners and seasoned yoga enthusiasts alike.

On Monday, June 24, Purdue Extension will be hosting a Stir-fry cooking class. Participants will learn how to make a stir-fry meal using fresh vegetables from the garden, find out how to grow their own stir-fry garden and make a stir-fry freezer meal to take home. There is a $5 fee for each person, and pre-registration is required. To join the class, call (260) 358-4826 by June 22.

Regular harvest hours will begin in July. Hours are Mondays, 4 to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Those who would like to be involved with the Community Garden, contact Becky Arnett at (260) 358-4826 or email at arnett1@purdue.edu.
