Posted: Friday, March 6, 2020

Parkview Huntington Family YMCA is again partnering with Huntington Parks and Recreation Department to offer Huntington Community Youth Soccer League. The goal of this league is to provide instruction to assist in the development of soccer skills.

Age divisions will include 4U, 6U, 8U, 11U, 14U and 18U. Those registering should not be turning the next age-level prior to June 1, 2020. For example, kids registering for 11U must be nine years old before May 1, but not turn 12 years old before June 1 and kids registering for 14U should be 12 years old by May 1 and not be 15 years old before June 1.

New this year is a 3U parent/tot class which is an introduction to soccer. For the three and under class children must be two years of age by May 5, 2020. Classes will meet one day each week in May (May 5, 12, 19 and 26). An instructor will provide guidance and skills as parents assist their children working on basic soccer skills together while playing fun games.

Beginning with 6U enrollees and older, practices will be held with their teams one time per week in addition to Saturday games. 4U teams will hold practices immediately before their Saturday games. Games and practices will take place at Yeoman Park. Weather permitting, practices for the league begin the week of April 13 with games starting April 25. The spring season will last six weeks. There will be end of the season tournaments held for 8U league and older during the week of June 8 with finals being held on June 13, 2020.
