Whitley Outreach Clinic accepting patients

Posted: Friday, August 25, 2017

Since the Huntington County Free Health Clinic closed its doors earlier this year, the Multi-County Medical Outreach Clinic in Columbia City will accept patients from Huntington County. This information was passed along to the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce from Dr. Thomas Hayhurst, medical director, and Margo Phillips, clinic director.

The Multi-County Medical Outreach Clinic has adopted the mission of providing free healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured population of the northeast Indiana region. The Medical Outreach Clinic is a volunteer driven 501(c)3 organization that offers primary care medical services to those in need - primarily those on limited income in northeast Indiana and throughout the region. There is no charge for services but contributions are gladly accepted and appreciated.

Parkview Health, Parkview Whitley and Parkview Noble Hospitals have provided the clinic with free office space and access to lab and x-ray services in the Parkview Health system. It relies on the many discount pharmacies in the area for medications. Many churches and individuals and community organizations have offered their support. The Multi-County Medical Outreach Clinic is open every Thursday (except fifth Thursdays in a month) from 1 to 5 p.m. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

The clinic is very appreciative of their volunteers including board members, professional healthcare providers and other volunteers who are vital to their mission, and the staff is always eager to serve those in need. The website has additional important information about the clinic. The address is 524 Branch Court in Columbia City (across from the Ace Hardware). Follow them on Facebook and the website is Reach the clinic by phone at (260) 564-1946. They look forward to serving those in need wherever they may reside.
