Week of February 16 proclaimed Tri Kappa Week

Posted: Friday, February 21, 2020

Huntington Mayor Richard Strick signed a proclamation on Friday, February 14, naming the week of February 16 as Tri Kappa Week in Huntington.

“How fitting for this to take place on Valentine’s Day,” said local chapter president Annette Carroll. “Our chapter is made up of women who love our community and give back whenever possible.”

Kappa Kappa Kappa, established in 1901, is a philanthropic organization with nearly 9,000 women in the state of Indiana. Tri Kappa efforts promote charity, culture and education through chapter events, charitable giving and community focus.

The Huntington Chi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa was established in 1906 and through various fund-raising efforts such as Follies, nut and flower sales and the Housewalk, they are able to support several organizations throughout each year. This includes offering multiple scholarships to local high school and collegiate students.

Tri Kappa week is another opportunity to show their support of the community and to celebrate, they will show appreciation to the nursing staff at Parkview Huntington Hospital by distributing gifts to them.
