Warren to host 8th Annual Scarecrow Festival

Posted: Wednesday, October 13, 2010

The Warren Area Chamber of Commerce invites all merchants, schools, sororities, churches, individuals, and clubs to participate in the Eighth Annual Scarecrow Festival in Warren. The event will take place on Friday, October 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Chamber would appreciate businesses representing themselves on the sidewalk by providing an activity, game, or treats for children. We want the evening to be full of fun and family-friendly events!  We would like to keep everything safe, simple, and economical as well!  A list of game ideas can be e-mailed to you at your request.

Businesses downtown will use their sidewalk space.  The Warren Chamber is hoping to fill all sidewalk areas with activities, so please notify us if you are unavailable that evening. A business that is not located downtown will use your space.  If your organization is not located downtown, contact us for an assigned space.  Call (317) 874-8787 ASAP with your activity description and receive a booth assigned location. If you have a storefront downtown, the Chamber is encouraging you to decorate your windows/store-fronts with either a lighted “harvest” or Halloween theme by October 24.  Please join our Chamber in giving the children and adults of our community an unforgettable evening of family-friendly fun and community fellowship.

The Warren Chamber is also encouraging all organizations and homeowners to decorate a Scarecrow for the festival and to enter the Chili Cook-Off.  Entry forms are available at MarkleBank, Studio E, East of Chicago, the Town Hall, and Bolinger’s Propane. For more information call Warren Chamber of Commerce, Scarecrow Festival Chairperson Diana Ratliff at (317) 874-8787.
