Warren to hold First Annual Holiday Walk

Historic Warren, a Main Street Initiative, will host Warren’s First Annual Holiday Walk and Festival of Trees on Friday, November 16. Area businesses, churches and the town library will open their doors for fun, friendship, holiday treats and incentives from 4 to 7 p.m.

The activities scheduled for the afternoon and evening in Warren will take place prior to the opening night of “The Christmas Story” at 8 p.m. at The Pulse Opera House. Participants may pick up a map at the Warren Town Annex to guide them through the activities taking place and return to the Annex at the end of the evening to vote for a favorite Christmas tree. Proceeds will go to the Warren Ministerial Association.

The afternoon will begin with live reindeer from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Second Street and horse-drawn wagon rides will leave from Second Street from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The Warren Public Library will host a pre-school story time from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. The Warren United Church of Christ will feature live organ Christmas music in the sanctuary by Sue Ellen Jones from 4 to 5 p.m., a Christmas puppet show from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and cookies and punch in the fellowship hall from 4 to 7 p.m.

Ron Winkler will play Christmas piano music in the sanctuary at the Warren Church of Christ from 5 to 6 p.m. with cookies and drinks in the fellowship hall from 4 to 7 p.m. The Solid Rock Church will have cookie decorating in the fellowship hall and Christmas music in the sanctuary by Marie DeWeese from 5 to 7 p.m.
