Warren sets its Scarecrow Festival for October 26

Posted: Friday, September 28, 2018

The Scarecrow Festival returns to downtown Warren on Friday, October 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. The festival committee is issuing an invitation to begin creating a scarecrow to enter and a challenge to cooks to concoct their tastiest chili.

A costume parade kicks off the festivities at 6 p.m., at the corner of 3rd and Wayne streets. Family-friendly activities and treats will follow. Chili and drinks will be available.

The Warren Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Scarecrow Festival and encourages local businesses and organizations to participate in the festival. They are asked to provide a family-friendly booth, organize a free game or activity and have treats ready for the trick-or-treaters.

For more information, booth location and chili cook-off/scarecrow contest guidelines, call Krysta Fornal at (260) 375-4616. Scarecrow and chili entry forms are due by October 19. Entry forms can be found at local businesses and the City Building. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Knight Bergman Center.
