Posted: Friday, October 2, 2015

Ryan Warner, president of Bippus State Bank, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from Huntington University. The award was presented at the Foundation Dinner held on Thursday, September 24.

The Distinguished Service Award annually recognizes an individual or organization that embodies the principles associated with the mission of Huntington University.  Recipients give substance and credence to their beliefs, serve as effective role models for students and receive recognition for the tremendous contribution they make to the Huntington County community. Their actions, as well as their words, bear persuasive witness to their commitment to the university and community. They live and work with integrity, service, compassion, responsibility, faithfulness, discipline and generosity.

Foundation president, Holly Sale, read from the plaque, “Over the years, Ryan has served the Huntington community in a leadership capacity through countless impactful organizations. Recently, his love of sports prompted him to lead a committee that raised funds for the modern scoreboards in the Huntington North High School gymnasium. Because of his outstanding service in so many areas, Ryan was named Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe in 2008.  This annual award is the highest honor that is bestowed on an individual who has dedicated years of service to our community.”

Ryan has also played a significant role at Huntington University, supporting the institution through his time, talent and resources. He is currently active with the President’s Advisory Council on Excellence (PACE). He attends and supports numerous sporting events as well as countless projects, programs, scholarships and capital campaigns at Huntington University. His dedication to the Lord’s work at Huntington University is longstanding.

Ryan has been married to his wife, Patty, for 37 years. Their three daughters are Melissa, Katie and Jodie. Katie is married to Kevin Powell, and they have blessed the Warners with twin granddaughters named Karoline and Kerrigan.
