“Walk with a Doc” scheduled for August 19

Posted: Friday, August 11, 2017

Take some steps towards better health! Begin your journey by participating in the “Walk with a Doc” program.

Dr. Matt Pflieger and Dr. Janelle Maxwell from Cardinal Family Medicine will host a “Walk with a Doc” on Saturday, August 19. If you plan to walk, they ask that you meet at the Historic Forks of the Wabash, at the pavilion at 9 a.m., for a short discussion on exercise and medicine. After the meeting, the group plans to take a walk on the trail.

According to Dr. Pflieger and Dr. Maxwell, walking can lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the bad cholesterol; raise high-density lipoprotein (HDL) the good cholesterol; lower blood pressure; manage weight; improve moods and helps you stay strong and fit. Walking also strengthens your heart, feeds your brain and strengthens your bones.
