Vote for Nick's Kitchen's tenderloin

Posted: Friday, January 6, 2012

The host committee for the Indianapolis Super Bowl created a delicious contest, asking Hoosiers to pick their favorite sandwich from local restaurants. In honor of Super Bowl 46, editors of Indianapolis Monthly selected 46 sandwiches from across Indiana. Now, they’re asking people to vote on their favorite.

The list includes classics like Indiana’s breaded tenderloin and new favorites like falafel and beef tongue. Huntington’s own Nick’s Kitchen is included on the list for its well-known breaded tenderloin. Votes will be collected the next five weeks and a winner will be announced prior to the Super Bowl. Host committee members say it’s a fun way for everyone to enjoy a bit of Super Bowl flavor.

“The more personal the Super Bowl is for all of our residents, the more everybody’s going to enjoy it,” said Allison Melangton, president and CEO of the Super Bowl 2012 Host Committee. “And so I think when we get to taste these wonderful creations today we’re all going to go out and sample more.”

As of Wednesday around noon, about 18,000 Hoosiers had voted. Triple X in West Lafayette leads the pack, followed by the Nickle Plate in Fishers and the Streamliner Restaurant in Rochester. To vote on a favorite and see the options, visit www.super46.com
