Posted: Friday, August 12, 2016
Pope Francis has declared that 2016 would be the Extraordinary Year of Mercy, which calls for a focus on God’s forgiveness and the importance of mercy.
Victory Noll Center is offering “Way of Mercy” on Wednesday, August 24, as an opportunity for growing in the experience of God’s mercy and extending the gift of mercy through the spiritual and corporal works. In the words of Francis: “The Church must be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.” Participants will meditate on scripture, Pope Francis’ encouraging words with time to pause and ponder the dimensions of God’s gracious mercy.
The program begins at 7 p.m. at Victory Noll Center, located at 1900 W. Park Drive. There is no cost for the event, but registration is requested by August 22. Donations are welcomed.
