Victory Noll Center offers new activities

Victory Noll Center, 1900 W. Park Drive, has a variety of activities scheduled for March through May. A Lenten Soup and Bread Book Study is currently underway Tuesdays during Lent from Noon to 1 p.m.

“The Other Face of God,” by Mary Jo Leddy, is being used for the Lenten Soup and Bread Book Study which continues March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3. Freewill donations covering the cost of lunch are appreciated. RSVP’s are requested by the Friday before each session.

Outdoor Stations of the Cross are available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily during Lent. Individuals or groups are welcome to walk the outdoor Stations of the Cross on the Victory Noll property. Sign in at the front desk is requested and booklets are available for those who wish to use them at no cost.

A Lenten Retreat will be held Wednesday, March 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is a guided retreat with prayer, preaching and pondering the Word with Sister Maureen Mangen and Father Keith Hosey. Registration is required by March 7 and $35 includes the retreat and lunch.

The Way of the Desert directed retreat will be offered from 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 through 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28. Retreat leaders are Nancy Brousseau, OP,D.Min., and Sue Wilhelm, D.Min. The cost is $290 single occupancy with meals included. Early registration is encouraged and the retreat is limited to the first ten people who register. Full payment is required seven days before the beginning of the retreat.

A Holy Week Retreat enters the Kenosis of Christ and His great outpouring of love. The retreat begins at 5 p.m. on Holy Thursday, April 5 and includes participation in the liturgy, praying with Jesus through the night, walking the Labyrinth or the Stations and journeying with him on the road to Calvary. The retreat concludes at 3 p.m. on Good Friday, April 6 and is limited to the first ten who register with a cost of $60 per person.

Wellness Practices for Self-Care will begin Mondays, April 9 or Tuesdays, April 10 with two different sessions of four classes offered. Classes will include T’ai Chi, yoga, quiet reflection, calming breath work and more Jan Parker is the facilitator and the cost is $35 for all four classes in each session. Registration is due by April 2.

Transitions and Discerning a New Direction will be facilitated by Sister Mary Jo Nelson, OLVM, Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day is for those in the midst of transition and may be helpful to the college student, men and women in midlife transition, those facing serious decisions and for those transitioning into retirement. The fee is $35 and includes lunch; registration is requested by Saturday, April 14.

Artist Time will take place at Victory Noll Monday, April 23 through Saturday, May 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Artists of any medium are invited to take advantage of the campus in the full bloom of spring. Non-artists are invited to walk the grounds and observe the artists at work. Light refreshments are available, and artists must provide their own materials and check in at the Victory Noll Administration Building main desk.
