Veteran Service Office seeking entries for parade

Posted: Friday, September 27, 2019

The Huntington County Veterans Service Office is encouraging all veterans and patriotic citizens to place an entry into the 7th Annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, November 9.

To register, call the Veterans Service Office at (260) 358-4863 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The parade staging will begin at 9 a.m. at the Huntington North High School (HNHS) west parking lot. Parade participants will enter HNHS at the MacGahan Street entrance. All entries are to check in at the registration table and then proceed to their assigned entry number that will be marked on the pavement. It is requested that all entries display an American Flag on their entry.

Due to the road construction on W. Park Drive, there will be an alternate parade route this year. The parade route will travel west on MacGahan Street from HNHS to Flaxmill Road and then Park Hill Drive where the parade will turn south to St. Felix Drive and then south on Bartlett Street through Memorial Park. The parade will commence at 10 a.m. and culminate at Memorial Park for a ceremony and unveiling of the new Charters of Freedom monument.
