Valentine’s Day Gathering a special event

Posted: Tuesday, February 15, 2011

The Chamber held its first Valentine’s Day Gathering on Monday evening, February 14. The New Huntington Theater and Supper Club hosted the event which was attended by over 75 people.

Guests were treated to a beautifully decorated room with long stem roses for the ladies and a small box of chocolates and wine for each couple. The menu included a choice of prime rib or lemon chicken, assorted side dishes, and a dessert of Million Dollar Pie.

Jill Sesso, a featured entertainer at the Supper Club from Chicago, sang a variety of songs appropriate to Valentine’s Day and the mood of the evening. A drawing was held for the ladies with the winner receiving a heart necklace and earrings, compliments of the JC Penney store in Huntington, and a velvet heart pillow, compliments of Dorothy’s Hallmark.

The Chamber sends a special thank you to Rich Najuch, Joel Froomkin, and the staff of The New Huntington Theater and Supper Club for their wonderful attention to detail, making the evening special to all who attended. Thanks also go to Betty Sands, manager of the JC Penney store, for her kind gift of the jewelry and to Dorothy’s Hallmark which donated the special velvet heart pillow given with the jewelry.

All who were in attendance agreed that it was a memorable evening. The Chamber thanks the community for their support of the activity and plans to make the Valentine’s Day Gathering an annual event.
