UW restocking supplies for "Giving Tuesday"

Posted: Friday, November 2, 2018

The United Way of Huntington County is having a school supply restock for this year’s Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is centered on a global day of giving.

This year, instead of just one day, the United Way will be collecting school supplies throughout the entire month of November for their funded partners who work in the education impact areas. The United Way will be joined by community partners: Shuttleworth, JJ Java, Café of Hope, Woodforest Bank, 1st Source Bank, Beacon Credit Union and First Merchants Bank, who will all have collection boxes available to collect supplies.

All school supplies donated will be given to one of United Way’s education impact area funded partners: Huntington Head Start, Youth Services Bureau, Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Parkview Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County or St. Peter’s First Community Church Homework Help. Anyone interested in donating, the top five items asked for are crayons, markers, pencils, book bags and paper to include computer, loose sheet or notebook. Items may be dropped off at the United Way office at 356 W. Park Drive, or any of the businesses listed above.

If any company would like to host a box for their employees and/or patrons, contact Bethany Buzzard at
