United Way sets goal of $676,000

The United Way of Huntington County held its campaign kickoff on Wednesday, August 21 at the Parkview Family YMCA. Nicole Johnson, Edward Jones, chair of this year’s campaign, announced the fundraising goal for this year to be $676,000.

A large crowd of United Way supporters attended to show their support of the campaign. Johnson; Jenna Strick, executive director of the United Way of Huntington County; and Joey Spiegel, executive director, Love INC; sang to the crowd while Mike Pogorelc and Lori Mickley of Bendix; Eric Fawcett, Bippus State Bank; and Adam Drummond, principal, Lincoln Elementary; were dressed in costumes and played backup for the trio.

Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development, introduced Huntington’s newest business, Auger Torque, during the event. Wickersham went on to introduce Alistar Rayner, managing director; Mark Rayner, global operations manager and Todd Miller, president of the local Auger Torque company.

As announced, also at the luncheon, “Be the One” is the theme of this year’s campaign. Lee’s KFC provided lunch to all who attended.
