Turkey Trot scheduled for Thanksgiving morning

The Turkey Trot 5K run and one-mile fun walk will be held on Thanksgiving morning, November 25. Pathfinder Kids Kampus will host the sixth annual event.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. with the run beginning at 8 a.m. The one-mile fun walk starts at 8:30 a.m. The event begins at McDonald’s located at 60 Home Street.

Age groups for the race include Best Boys’ and Girls’ division, ages 15 and under; Men’s and Women’s, 35-54; and Men’s and Women’s, ages 55 and up. The overall male and female winner of the race will receive a cash prize of $100. The winner of each age division will receive $50.

Those pre-registering for the 2010 Turkey Trot can pick-up an optional packet on November 24 at Pathfinder Kids Kampus, 435 Campus Street. For participants to receive a free long-sleeved T-shirt, registration is encouraged by today Friday, November 12. Pre-registration will allow for runners/walkers to pick up their T-shirt, race number, and chip for the race prior to race day.

The race is sponsored by McDonald’s, Parkview Huntington Hospital, David Culp & Co., Mettler Agency, Inc., El Shaddai, Inc., MarkleBank, Custom Craft, and the Fort Wayne Track Club. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Kids Kampus Early Childhood Education Center Scholarship Fund.
