TUMC Evensong Concert to feature Gibboney

Posted: Friday, February 16, 2018

The February 2018, Evensong Concert features the return of Ted Gibboney to Trinity United Methodist’s pipe organ on Sunday, February 25. The concert begins at 4 p.m.

Reflecting the season of Lent, he will present Marcel Dupré’s The Stations of the Cross, narrated by Joe Wiley. Admission to the event is free.

Gibboney is director of music at Ascension and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds academic degrees in music from DePauw, Yale and Indiana universities. His keyboard studies include work in Switzerland and a year-long fellowship of the German Cultural Exchange. As an organist, harpsichordist and pianist he continues to perform in the United States and Europe in worship, recitals and workshops.

When the pain and stiffness of spinal arthritis threatened his playing career, the study of the Alexander Technique (AT) brought about dramatic relief. He resumed his career and was inspired to complete the extensive three-year teacher certification for that mind/body discipline. He has founded a private practice in Cincinnati. In addition to private clients, he has led workshops and taught classes in three states for both musicians and general audiences.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 530 Guilford Street. For more information on this concert, and the entire 2017-18 Evensong Concert Series, go to
