TrophyCenter Plus opens downtown

Posted: Friday, July 1, 2011

TrophyCenter Plus opened for business on Thursday, June 16 in downtown Huntington. The business is owned by Joe and Michele Santa and specializes in a combination of awards and unique gift items including trophies, medals, plaques, frames, signs and name plates, wine bottles, necklaces, key chains, flash drives, coasters, engraving and much more. The store also carries corporate award gifts such as glass, crystal and acrylic items.

Santa said he always thought the trophy and awards business was very interesting as it involved things he is interested in especially youth and school sports. Owning a business has always been a dream of Santa’s. He was formerly involved in education including 23 years as a high school athletic director at Canterbury, Huntington North and Warsaw Community High Schools. He was also the head basketball coach at Canterbury for five years and has been a board member of Huntington County Baseball for 25 years. Santa enjoyed his time in education but felt it was the right time to launch this venture.

Santa said, “One of my goals is to use my knowledge and past experiences to work in developing some type of youth activities and sports’ foundation in Huntington County, where training of youth and adults in the area of youth sports is the goal, as well as supporting our many fine youth activity organizations.”

TrophyCenter Plus specializes in customer service. Santa further commented, “We have a storefront, but we realize that people are busy. We will make sure to be available for our customers both in their setting and in our store. Delivery of all items will be offered free of charge.”

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The store’s address is 445 N. Jefferson Street and phone number, (260) 504-2717. You can also reach Santa through e-mail at or see the website (will be up and running sometime in July).
