Triple LLL Truck to open with groundbreaking

Posted: Friday, August 16, 2019

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place at Triple LLL Truck Repair, Inc. on Wednesday, August 28 at 4 p.m. The ceremony will be held at their new location, 8254 W 300 N in Andrews. Triple LLL Truck Repair, Inc. is a full service maintenance and repair facility for all makes and models of private and commercial vehicles and equipment.

Ryan Long plans to add a 60’ x 78’ building to the existing facility to work on semis and large trucks. Long purchased the business in 2012 from his father Mauri Long. He rented space from his father but now owns his own facility in Andrews.

Triple LLL Truck Repair is owned and operated by Ryan Long, a fourth generation owner of the company. Long is moving his business to Huntington County from Wabash County, and plans call for him to close the Wabash facility on November 30.

Long said, “Everyone in Huntington County has been good to us. I’m very appreciative of Huntington helping me through this entire process with approvals and permits.” He continued, “Once the facility is up and running, we plan to have eight full time employees with most of the employees coming from our Wabash facility.”

Also according to Long, “The new building will have three drive-through bays and more square footage. The new facility will allow the larger trucks to enter one side of the building and drive out the other side.” Long went on to say, “One of the hurdles semi drivers have is trying to maneuver the big rig around the facility to have their rigs worked on. With our new layout it will be much easier for the driver, and they will enter straight in and drive out the other side. We will also have more parking area at the Andrews location.”

“Triple LLL Truck Repair specializes in alignments, but can do just about any kind of work needed done on trucks and trailers including suspension, driveline, air conditioning, diagnostics and light engine work. We also offer Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections, preventative maintenance and 24-hour road service,” said Long.

The business will also include a retail shop where just about everything a person needs for trucks or trailers can be found. If they do not have the product in stock, they will be able to get the product quickly.

The company was originally founded in 1928 by Long’s great-grandfather Howard Long. Howard Long started the business hauling horses and mules. After Long’s great-grandfather owned the business, it was handed down to his grandfather (Richard Long) and then his father (Mauri Long). The family farmed and raised livestock while operating the trucking business.
