Summer Outdoor Concert Series to begin

Posted: Friday, July 10, 2015

The LaFontaine Arts Council of Huntington County will present music for everyone to enjoy at its Summer Outdoor Concert Series. The series of three programs will be presented at Hanger 59 just north of Huntington.

Fort Wayne-based “Urban Legend,” a rock and soul band, will perform on Sunday, July 26. Hometown favorite “Roustabout” pictured, will present its folk sound on Sunday, August 9. Rock group “Press the Glass," from Indianapolis will complete the series at a show on Sunday, August 16.

The LAC recently sponsored JeFFFest, and the group wanted to provide even more summer programming for the Huntington community. LAC executive director Debbie Dyer explained, “We want to encourage the participation in and the enjoyment of the arts. We feel that partnering with Hanger 59 for the Summer Outdoor Concert Series allows us to do just that."

All concerts will be held in the parking lot at Hanger 59. Everyone should bring lawn chairs so that they have seating for the concerts. Plenty of parking is available nearby.

No admission will be charged, but a free-will offering will be taken during each event. The two-hour concerts will begin at 4 p.m. Hanger 59 will be open and will offer food and ice cream for purchase. More information about the concerts can be found on the LAC Facebook page or the LaFontaine Arts Council office at (260) 358-0055.

All proceeds from the Summer Outdoor Concert Series will go toward the LaFontaine Arts Council’s Arts in Education programming.
