Strick named executive director of United Way

Posted: Monday, January 17, 2011

Effective January 3 Jenna Strick has been hired as the new executive director of the United Way of Huntington County. Strick succeeds Pat Horoho who has served the organization for 15 years and will retire in April. Horoho will spend her final four months helping Strick transition into the position.

Strick graduated from Huntington University in 2006 with a degree in educational ministry and served as an administrative assistant at the Huntington County Red Cross prior to being hired at the United Way. She has served the United Way for three years under the leadership of Horoho as the Director of Donor Relations.

Strick has a passion for impacting people and helping change lives. She said her vision for the United Way is to strengthen partnerships within the community so that the connections that are created during the campaign remain strong throughout the remainder of the year and for years to come. She cites Horoho’s leadership as an inspiration and a comfort in taking on the leadership of what she considers to be a well-respected, well-run organization in the Huntington community.

Horoho said her retirement is “bittersweet.” She will miss being a part of something she has served for 15 years, but is looking forward to her new life and the challenges of retirement. As she believes in the mission of the United Way, Horoho may continue to serve in some capacity after retirement.
