Posted: Friday, April 29, 2016

The Youth Educator from the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) taskforce will present online safety for parents at the Huntington Library Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. The representative will give a presentation on the safe use of all devices for kids accessing the internet, as well as the various ways kids access the internet.

The discussion will also include preventing victimization of children from online threats, from bullying to extortion. The presentation is geared towards helping parents who did not grow up with technology, but whose children did grow up with the internet.

There will also be a presentation by the ICAC Youth Educator geared towards children Thursday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. This presentation will cover what children can and should not post on the internet, what the consequences are of posting something inappropriate, how to respond to suspicious requests and how to work together to stop cyberbullying.

Both presentations take place at the Huntington Library, 255 W. Park Drive, and are free to attend.
