St. Patrick's Day celebration is finalized

The LaFontaine Arts Council has finalized plans for its St. Paddy’s Day Celebration fundraiser, which is being held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. The event will be held at The Berg Ale Haus, 435 Cherry Street.

In addition to the regular menu items, The Berg will offer special Irish dishes that evening, including Irish stew with cornbread, Irish nachos, and corned beef and cabbage balls with a dipping sauce. Specialty Irish cocktails will also be available. The Irish band Soltre will play from 6 to 8 p.m.

Following the band’s performance, Andy Eckert will lead a live auction of items donated from several Huntington County area businesses. These include a gift certificate for an overnight stay at the Purviance House Bed and Breakfast donated by Barb and Brooks Fetters; a Roanoke gift basket with a scarf and candle from the Paper Moon and a $25 gift certificate from Joseph Decuis; a spa basket with a one-hour message from Dyer Health and Wellness, McVoy Design Studio spa products and a haircut certificate from Becky Tunks at the Downtown Salon; Chloe and Isabel jewelry donated by Katie Spencer; a stained-glass Celtic cross created and donated by Beth Stoffel; a Two EE’s Winery basket with a $25 gift certificate from Joseph Decuis; six tickets to a Mad Ants basketball game; a live edge oak coffee table made and donated by Jason and Jessica Grossman; Notre Dame head covers and golf items donated by Paul and Ann Siegfried and a sports item from TrophyCenter Plus.
