Expert business mentors from SCORE Northeast Indiana will present a free workshop on July 16 about starting a small business. The workshop is being coordinated by the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, a SCORE branch office, and will be held at the Huntington City-Township Public Library from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The workshop will feature five SCORE mentors each with many years of business experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small single proprietorships. Topics covered in the two-hour workshop will include Myths and Realities of Entrepreneurship, What’s in a Business Plan, Legal Business Structures and Financial Tools and How to Put It All Together.

The workshop will educate those in attendance about SCORE’s ability to help anyone wanting to start a small business. Following the workshop representatives will be available to explain how business mentoring can be provided by SCORE. Mentors are available to help with a wide variety of business topics and SCORE’s help is free for the asking.

SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer and expert business mentors. It is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964 the organization has provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs.
