Scholarship apps sought, deadline approaches

The Huntington County Community Foundation (HCCF) encourages all who are seeking post-secondary tuition funding to apply for scholarships online through the HCCF website at The deadline for applications is Monday, March 1 at 11:59 p.m.

The Foundation’s online application method is a quick and easy way to apply for the available scholarships. The applicants’ progress can be saved, which allows completing the application at a later time.

When considering the pursuit of a higher level of education, whether it be a two-or four-year degree at a college or certification at a trade or vocational school, it is worth the time to apply for scholarship funding. Scholarships can help alleviate the tuition expenses, which is most often the leading financial burden students encounter. HCCF’s scholarship program has over 60 scholarships available. For those currently seeking financial assistance, now is the time to fill out a scholarship application with the Huntington County Community Foundation. Scholarships vary from $250 to $5,000 per semester. Qualifying applicants may be eligible to receive more than one scholarship.

Some examples of criteria used to determine applicant eligibility include: Resides in Huntington County, Scholastic merit (GPA 2.0 or above); extracurricular activities; eligibility is determined on whether students meet the scholarship’s criteria, and their responses to essay questions.
