Salvation Army continues to meet needs

Posted: Friday, October 19, 2012

The Salvation Army in Huntington is a community center for worship and service. Located at 1424 E. Market Street, part of the Salvation Army’s mission is to meet human needs in the name of Jesus Christ without discrimination.

The Salvation Army has for many years worked to provide food and clothing and meet the challenges of those in need in the community. It continues this ministry. It also offers safe and educational childcare programs and provides group meetings for women and youth. Nursing home visitations take place the second Sunday of each month and Senior Bingo on the second Thursday of each month.

Group meetings are also held for youth and a basketball league is offered for anyone in grades six through 12. Applications are being taken until Saturday, November 3. The season begins in December and runs through the first of March.
