Rose Wall named 2011 Chief

Rose Wall, owner of Wehr Into Flowers, was named Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe Thursday morning, June 16, at the Heritage Days kick-off breakfast. The event was held at the LaFontaine Golf Club with 116 members of the community in attendance. Rose was honored for her many contributions and years of service to the Huntington community and introduced by John Easterday, the 2010 Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe. Easterday also announced the new Little Miss Heritage Days, his granddaughter, Lauryne Pearson, and the 2011 Junior Miss Heritage Days, Reagan Killigrew. Seth Marshall, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce board, gave the welcome and introduced Scott Trauner of The Huntington County TAB who served as emcee of the breakfast.  The invocation was given by Father Ron Rieder. Joe Burgess, Chairman of the 2011 Heritage Days steering committee, gave an overview of this year’s Heritage Days events and recognized his committee members.
