Rock bands coming to Honeywell Center

Mi Tunes 101.9 and 105.9 The Bash welcome April Wine with special guest Shooting Star to the Honeywell Center on Saturday, September 1 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert, sponsored by Frederick’s Photography, will open with singer/guitarist Michael Kelsey.

Canadian rockers April Wine first hit the stage in 1969 and experienced great success through the 70’s and 80’s as they earned more than 10 gold records in Canada and the U.S. With more than 30 albums released over their career, the band continues to excite fans all over the planet with hits that include “Just Between You and Me,” “Roller,” “I Like to Rock,” and “Enough is Enough.”  Their performance in Wabash will include the group’s original frontman Myles Goodwin.

Founded in the late 70’s, Shooting Star released their self-titled first album in 1980.  Their albums spawned hits like “You Got What I Need,” “Hollywood,” “Breakout,” and “Bring It On.”  They later went on to tour extensively with bands like ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, and Todd Rundgren.

A pre-show party on the Honeywell Center plaza will take place between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Music will be provided by 105.9 The Bash’s Wade Weaver, while food and beverages will be available from the Plaza Grille. The party is free and open to the public.
