Richardson, Souers, Historical Society Volunteers of 2010

Lowell Richardson and Patti Souers have been named the 2010 Volunteers of the Year by the Huntington County Historical Society. Richardson and Souers received the awards as each has contributed nearly 200 hours of volunteer service to the Historical Society.

Historical Museum Director Patricia Bergdall (center in photo), presented the awards based on service, commitment and inter-generational examples of volunteerism in the community by Richardson and Souers. Each has also been actively involved in the Historical Museum for several years. The Huntington County Historical Museum is located at 315 Court Street and traces the history of Huntington County from prehistoric times.

The museum has displays of historical significance including the Miami Indian and French Voyageur period, Wabash and Erie Canal era to pioneer settlers, railroad, business, sports, and military history. Museum hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m. It is closed Sunday, Monday, Holidays, and the month of January.
