Rachel Simon to speak at Pathfinder Annual Dinner

Pathfinder Services, Inc. will celebrate its Annual Community Recognition Dinner Saturday, November 3 at Huntington University. This year’s dinner will have a special keynote speaker, Rachel Simon.

Rachel Simon is the award-winning author of six books and a nationally recognized public speaker on issues related to diversity and disability. Her titles include the bestsellers, The Story of Beautiful Girl and Riding the Bus with My Sister. Both books are frequent selections of book clubs and school reading programs around the country.

Rachel’s work has been adapted for theater, NPR, the Lifetime Channel and Hallmark Hall of Fame, whose adaptation of Riding the Bus With My Sister starred Rosie O’Donnell and Andie McDowell, and was directed by Anjelica Huston. Rachel will be sharing her story with the dinner audience.

Also at the dinner the prestigious Herbert D. LaMont award will be presented to an outstanding citizen of Huntington for his or her work with adults and/or children with disabilities. The Timothy Hancher award honoring a direct service staff member of Pathfinder Services, Inc. will be presented at the dinner. Outstanding community partners of the organization will also be honored.

Pathfinder Services’ recognition dinner will be held at the Habecker Dining Commons, adjacent to the Merillat Centre on the grounds of Huntington University. The evening will start with a punch reception at 5 p.m. where guests will have the opportunity to meet Rachel Simon, followed by dinner at 5:45 p.m. The dinner will conclude with Rachel Simon’s presentation to those in attendance.

The price is $20 per person for dinner and Rachel Simon’s presentation, and Corporate Tables of ten are available for $200.
