Public invited to dialogue on mental health July 8

Posted: Friday, June 21, 2019

The Huntington Prevention Task Force will host an upcoming community dialogue entitled, “Mental Health and Youth” on Monday, July 8. The dialogue will be held at the Huntington City-Township Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m.

The purpose of the community dialogues on diversity series is to bring people together around topics that affect our community and to hear different thoughts and opinions in order to understand one another more fully in diversity and disagreement. These dialogues align with and put into action the Huntington City Council mission statement which reads that Huntington will be ‘a community of civility and inclusion, where diversity is honored and differences are respected.’

There will be a group of people who work with youth in Huntington County, and they will be discussing their experiences and perspectives on the considerations of mental health and the lives of young people. Panelists will include representatives from Remedy Live, HCCSC, probation and others. Following a conversation among panelists, the audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions. Resources will also be available to anyone with questions about mental health treatment options in Huntington County.

These dialogues are free and open to the public. For questions or more information, please call United Way of Huntington County at (260) 356-6160.
