Prevent 'burn out' at HU's Leadership Luncheon

Posted: Monday, February 14, 2011

It’s easy for leaders to feel “burnt out” in a world where they are constantly connected and always on the move. At Huntington University’s Leadership Luncheon on February 23, attendees can learn some practical leadership actions to prevent “running out of gas” as Ed Vessels presents one of The Center of Leadership Studies Habitudes, “Emotional Fuel.”

Vessels is a former senior operational executive and general manager for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group. His career also includes senior operation roles with previous Bendix owners, AlliedSignal and Honeywell. He has received some of these companies’ most prestigious leadership and team achievement awards. After 31 years with Bendix, Vessels elected early retirement to found HiValu LLC, which offers leadership development and strategic consulting services to organizations and individuals. He is active in a variety of leadership roles in the community and church. He teaches leadership courses at the university level and is a requested speaker at professional and civic events.

The luncheon, sponsored by the Huntington University Center for Leadership, will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons. The cost is $10 per person – a reduced price this year. The luncheon is open to the public.
