Pioneer Festival committee looking for artists

Posted: Friday, August 16, 2013

The Forks of the Wabash Pioneer Festival Committee is looking for local artists who would be interested in attending the festival on Saturday, September 28 to paint, sketch or draw anything an individual finds of interest around the festival. Artists may participate in this event from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Pioneer Festival will provide the canvas for each artist to use. The artwork will then be displayed in the tent next to information booth during the remainder of the festival. A silent auction will also take place until 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 29 of the canvases and the winners will be announced during the awards presentations at the stage around 3 p.m. The proceeds from the silent auction will then be donated to the LaFontaine Arts Council. Artists may also choose to not have their canvases in the silent auction.

Artists participating in this event should respond by Sunday, August 25, so that canvases may be ordered. Artists will also be sent a complimentary pass to enter the festival. For information contact Jennifer Scalf, Pioneer Festival chairman, at (260) 519-0122 or at
