PHH looking for photos for hospital décor

Posted: Friday, October 26, 2018

As construction on Parkview Huntington Hospital’s new Rehab and Wellness/Wound Care addition continues, hospital leadership is reaching out to the community to help add personal, local touches to the facility’s décor.

“We need your photos!” said Juli Johnson, president of PHH. “Those of us who grew up here, or who have lived here for many years, know that Huntington County is truly a special place. We would like to reflect that in local photos that will become part of the hospital. In recent renovations, we began adding photos of local scenes, and now we’d really like to open that up and invite amateur and professional photographers alike to seize the opportunity to have their work on display in our facility.”

Photographers are invited to submit photos that represent the rich heritage, beauty and diversity of the community. Photos of landscapes, architecture, industry, people, places, sporting events or school and community activities will be considered – any appropriate subject reflecting the culture of Huntington County, past and present. Chosen submissions will be matted, framed and displayed with pride within the hospital complex.

“We’ve extended our deadline for submissions to November 15,” Johnson explained. “So there is still plenty of time for people to send their photos.”

The original deadline for photo submissions was November 1 via an email address listed on the Parkview Huntington section of However, a technical glitch has prevented any of the photos that were submitted from being received. Photos should now be sent to a new email address by November 15: The hospital regrets any inconvenience for those who already sent photos and need to resubmit them.

Photo submissions should be accompanied by the photographer’s name and preferred phone number, status as an amateur or professional photographer and the photographer’s career profession.

All photos must be submitted as high-resolution digital images, (minimum) 300 dpi. Photos may be black-and-white or color, new or vintage. Each photo should be accompanied by a short explanation about it, including specifics as to where and when the photograph was taken. If people are shown in the photo, it must be accompanied by a photo release signed by the individual(s) shown, as well as their printed names. There is no limit to the number of photographs that may be submitted.

Important information about the photo submission process: Photographers who submit photos to Parkview Huntington Hospital should be aware that by doing so, they are granting permission for the hospital leadership team (and/or an external vendor, acting on behalf of and with the permission of, the hospital leadership team) to use its discretion in printing, matting, framing and displaying the photo(s) within the hospital, the new addition or elsewhere in the complex. Individuals submitting photos acknowledge that they do not expect, and will not require, remuneration for use of their photo(s). The hospital reserves the right to determine whether subject matter is appropriate for public display within the facility. Individuals whose photos are chosen will be informed of the selection, and will receive photography credit on or near the mounted, framed photo as it is displayed within the hospital facility.
