Pathfinder to hold open house at the HAEC

Posted: Friday, June 4, 2021

Pathfinder Services will hold an Open House at the Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center (HAEC) on Sunday, June 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. as part of a weeklong celebration of neighborhood revitalization activities nationally recognized as NeighborWorks Week. The HAEC is located at 32 E. Franklin Street.

“This year’s theme for NeighborWorks Week is “Building Strong Communities Together Every Day” and that is exactly what we are doing at the HAEC,” says Carrie Blackham, Chief Operating Officer at Pathfinder Services. “From creating community murals with children to hosting entrepreneur courses for aspiring business owners, we are truly working hard to strengthen our community every day.”

The HAEC Open House will include tours of the building, with a special stop in the rear courtyard. It follows National Neighborhood Promise Day on Saturday, where volunteers from Republic Services, Pathfinder Services, and the community will be building picnic tables, filling planter boxes, and cleaning and decorating the rear courtyard for use by tenants, HAEC visitors, and the public.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of NeighborWorks Week,” says Katy Strass, Director of the HAEC. “As a fairly new business in the downtown Huntington community, the value of neighbors helping neighbors is crucial to us as we work to show people what we have to offer in our beautifully renovated space.”

The Huntington Arts and Entrepreneurial Center is a multi-purpose community arts center that serves all people as they pursue their interest in the arts and in business opportunities. By facilitating a downtown presence for arts and entrepreneurship, the Center serves as a creative hub and is catalyst for expansion of the city’s economy. The Arts Center will exercise the missions of each of its collaborators with the intent of contributing to the revitalization of historic downtown by turning it into a place where quality of life is at the center of importance, and everyone is accepted and included.

Pathfinder Services HomeOwnership Center, a National NeighborWorks network organization, is a nonprofit, one-stop shop for homebuyers. Our mission is to help people with financial challenges set up and follow a plan to realize their dream of homeownership.
