Pathfinder Services partners to provide carts

Posted: Friday, November 25, 2011

Link Environmental Equipment has partnered with the City of Huntington to provide trash carts to Huntington residents beginning in 2012. The carts were assembled by the clients and staff of Pathfinder OutSource Manufacturing.

“We would like to thank the City of Huntington and Link Environmental Equipment for providing jobs for clients of Pathfinder OutSource Manufacturing,” stated Loretta Mottram, senior director of business development for Pathfinder Services. “This partnership has allowed our clients to earn a wage and be involved in the assembly of 6,800 carts for the city of Huntington.  Our clients have a tremendous amount of skill that can be applied to many outsourcing jobs in our community.  We are extremely honored that we were recognized for those skills and were selected to help assemble carts that will enhance our cities refuse system for 2012,” Mottram concluded.

Huntington Mayor Steve Updike added, “The Pathfinder organization was the first one that came to mind when discussing the assembly of the carts.  It’s important to keep business in the Huntington community, so this was a perfect fit.  I’d like to thank Pathfinder, Link Equipment and Huntington Street Superintendent, Dave Spencer, for all the hard work they’ve put into this project.”

Terry O’Brien from Link Environmental Equipment noted: “We have had a relationship with Pathfinder for over 20 years, and were extremely pleased that we could partner once again to better service the city of Huntington.”  In addition, Ameri-Kart Corp., a local company based in Bristol is the manufacturer of the new Roll-Out Carts. “We are very pleased to be the selected manufacturer of the Roll-Out cart program for the city of Huntington, and it is especially gratifying when we can produce and provide product for our own communities, right here in the state of Indiana.”

“It was a group effort- along with the help of our local dealer - Link Environmental, the city of Huntington and the ‘Buy Indiana’ program; we were able to accomplish the task. Anytime you can keep the business local, it’s a “win-win” for all involved, especially in the tough economic times we are in,” O’Brien concluded.
