Posted: Friday, September 8, 2017

Pathfinder Services is pleased to announce they sent staff and a board member to the Rural LISC Annual Seminar, Big Skies, Bigger Opportunities in Rural America on August 28 to 31. The Rural LISC Seminar is an annual national conference for rural community development professionals.

This year’s Seminar was held in Bozeman, Montana and was co-sponsored by Rural LISC Partner Human Resource Development Council of District IX (HRDC IX). Attendees were provided with the opportunity to learn about national trends, exchange information, gain valuable insight into ways to improve the community and offered networking opportunities with rural colleagues from around the country.

Justin Barker, director of the Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center, along with Richard Strick, Pathfinder Services board member, attended the seminar. In addition to attending the seminar, John Niederman, president and CEO of Pathfinder Services, served on a panel to discuss the Creative Abilities Art Center project that is in the planning stages for downtown Huntington.

“Rural LISC’s community-based partners are critically important in providing affordable housing, workforce and economic development, living wage jobs, healthcare facilities and the move from low to moderate income individuals and families in rural communities across the country,” said Rural LISC vice president Suzanne Anarde. “Pathfinder Services is a valued and important partner, and we appreciate their participation and attendance at the seminar this year.”
