Pathfinder recognizes Support Professionals
Posted: Thursday, September 29, 2016
Pathfinder Services, Inc. recently participated in the 2016 National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week, September 11 to 17, by recognizing and thanking all of their Direct Support Professionals for their service. Each Direct Support Professional was given a Pathfinder Services gift each day as a reminder of the appreciation for all they do to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Pathfinder Services employs nearly 400 Direct Support Professionals who act as mentors, teachers and offer support to teens and adults with developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional provides assistance in the home, at work and/or in the community to help those served reach their ultimate potential while taking into consideration his or her personal dreams and goals.
Direct Support Professional Recognition Week is part of the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) National Advocacy Campaign, whose mission is to enhance the lives of all people with disabilities who rely on long-term supports and services by obtaining the resources to recruit, train and retain a highly qualified and sustainable workforce.
Direct Support Professional Recognition Week is celebrated annually across the country with special events and ceremonies like these earmarked to honor the tens of thousands of workers who enable people with intellectual, developmental and other significant disabilities and their families to live healthy lives in their communities.
