Posted: Friday, September 22, 2017

Pathfinder Community Integration is collaborating with the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington to collect and prepare cleanup bucket kits. After the bucket kits are collected they will be sent to the Presbyterian Disaster assistance location in Louisville, Kentucky.

The collection will begin on Monday, September 25 and will be collected through Friday, September 29. Individuals served by Pathfinder Community Supports will accept donations from the community from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the First Presbyterian Church located at 50 E. Tipton Street. Donations will also be collected on Sunday, October 1 at the same location by the congregation.

The cleanup bucket kits are valued at $75 each and include: one 5-gallon bucket with a resealable lid; five scouring pads; 7 sponges, assorted sizes; one scrub brush; one pkg. cleaning towels (18 reusable, like Easy Wipes); one 50 oz. or two 25 oz. bottles of liquid laundry detergent; one liquid concentrated household cleaner (like Lysol), 12 oz.; one bottle liquid disinfectant dish soap (like Dawn), 24 to 28 oz.; one pkg. clothespins, 48 to 50; clotheslines, two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.; five dust masks; two pair of latex gloves (like Playtex); one pair work gloves; one 24 to 28 count roll heavy-duty trash bags (30-45 gallon, remove from carton) and one bottle insect repellant (pump, drops or lotion; not aerosol), 6 to 9 oz.

Donated materials for the bucket should be new and unopened and all liquids should be in plastic bottles. Once the materials are received and sorted by the individuals served by Pathfinder Community Supports, the First Presbyterian Church’s youth group will then package the kits and prepare them for delivery.
