Pathfinder needs tax preparation volunteers

Pathfinder Community Connections, the Community Development division of Pathfinder Services, prepares for a fourth year of providing low to moderate income families with free tax preparation assistance. This program served more than 900 individuals during last year’s tax season, and in moving forward, Pathfinder Services hopes to assist even more community members in 2013.

Pathfinder Community Connections’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is currently in need of volunteers for the upcoming tax season. No prior tax experience is necessary. All training and materials will be provided by Pathfinder Services and the IRS. The program seeks to fill a variety of roles including tax preparation, greeting, scheduling appointments and more. Volunteering hours are flexible and based upon your availability.

Training begins on Wednesday, December 5 and tax preparation begins Monday, January 28, 2013. All training sessions and tax preparation will take place at the Pathfinder Services North Campus located at 2824 Theater Avenue.
