Parkview in need of volunteers

Posted: Thursday, January 6, 2011

Parkview Huntington Hospital is in need of volunteers to assist in the delivery of food for its Homebound Meals program. Noontime meals are delivered Monday through Friday within the city limits of Huntington. Routes generally consist of between eight and 12 stops and are grouped geographically. Maps of the routes are provided.

Currently, there is a need for volunteers to deliver one route on Monday and one on Tuesday. Meals are delivered between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and the routes typically take 45 minutes to one hour to complete. Routes normally include two volunteers – one to drive and the other to take the meals to the home.

Volunteers receive a free meal in the cafeteria when they return to the hospital as well as other benefits. For more information call Judy Fitzmaurice, Parkview Huntington Hospital volunteer coordinator, at 355-3319.
