Parkview Huntington Guild awards scholarships

Posted: Friday, July 22, 2016

Nathan Park and Olivia Eckert have each been awarded scholarships by the Parkview Huntington Hospital Guild.

Park recently graduated from Huntington North High School. The son of Steve and Melanie Park, he is enrolled at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he will study to become a biomedical engineer.

Eckert, daughter of Pete and the late Michelle Eckert, is currently enrolled in the Ivy Tech Community College nursing program. Her goal is to become a registered nurse and continue her career at Parkview Huntington Hospital, where she works now as a patient care tech.

“Nathan and Olivia are such impressive young people,” said Anne Malone, president, Parkview Huntington Hospital Guild. “I know both of them have very bright futures ahead. Our scholarship committee received some excellent applications for this scholarship, but the panel of judges felt these two stood out head-and-shoulders above the rest.”

The Parkview Huntington Hospital Guild presents two $1,000 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors or those who are already in school and working in a health-related field. Individuals who wish to apply next year may pick up an application by contacting the Huntington North High School Guidance Department or the financial aid office at Huntington University, or by visiting the gift shop at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
