Posted: Friday, February 23, 2018

It’s Gala time once again! The seventh Parkview Huntington Community Gala will be held on the evening of Saturday, April 7, at the Huntington PAL Event Center, 1501 Riverside Drive, 7 p.m.

Proceeds from this year’s event will enhance services to be offered at the future Holly D. Sale Rehabilitation and Wellness Center and the new wound clinic, both currently under construction on the hospital campus at 2001 Stults Road.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Dr. R.B. Peare and Dr. John B. Kay Award for Excellence in Healthcare. The award is named for two Huntington physicians who were instrumental in advancing health services locally and in establishing the current Parkview Huntington Hospital. Parkview Physicians Group (PPG), Family Medicine physician J. David Carnes received the award in 2017. Other recipients have included Duane Hougendobler, MD, PPG, Pediatrics; Anil V. Rao, MD, PPG, OB/GYN; and Nurses Marilyn Rittenhouse, Ruth Wall and Mary Wilson.

This year’s recipient of the Peare-Kay Award will be selected from nominees reviewed by a panel of hospital and community representatives. Gourmet food including desserts and a selection of fine beverages will be available throughout the evening. Complimentary valet parking will be available.

The Gala is co-sponsored by the boards of directors of Parkview Huntington Hospital and the Parkview Huntington Foundation. Reservations are available online or by phone. Ticket cost is $75 per person. More information is available from the Parkview Huntington Foundation office at (260) 355-3316 or at
