Parkview holds spring health checkup

Parkview Huntington Hospital will hold its annual Spring Health Checkup on Thursday, April 28, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the hospital, 2001 Stults Road, Huntington.

Required paperwork and payment will be processed in the front lobby, with the following lab work taking place in the lower-level classrooms. Valet parking will be available from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Parkview Huntington Hospital Senior Partners receive a discount on all lab tests. Payment can be made by either cash or check.

Tests offered and their costs are:

Blood Chemistry 17 – $19 ($17 for Senior Partners). This test checks sodium, potassium, creatinine, uric acid, calcium, magnesium, albumin, iron, total bilirubin, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, AST (SGOT)), alkaline phosphatase and glucose. An eight- to 12-hour fast is recommended. Water is allowed, and diabetics should stay on their therapy schedule.

Hemogram Blood Test (anemia/iron) – $9 ($8 for Senior Partners).

TSH Blood Test (thyroid) – $23 ($20 for Senior Partners).

CRP Ultra Sensitive Test – $23 ($20 for Senior Partners). This test detects the potential risk for developing early heart disease.

PSA Blood Test (prostate) – $23 ($20 for Senior Partners).

Following lab work, breakfast will be available for purchase in the HOSPITALity Café from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Test results will be returned to Spring Health Checkup participants in the U.S. mail. For additional information, call (260) 355-3802 or (800) 533-2252, ext. 53802
