Parkview Boys & Girls Club to break ground

Posted: Friday, September 12, 2014

We are excited to announce that the Parkview Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County will soon begin construction on the new Parkview facility. The board of directors has signed a contract with Felderman Design Build, allowing them to begin work this month. The board has also chosen First Federal Savings Bank to finance the project.

The Parkview Boys & Girls Club is very excited to have a partnership with both of these companies as they begin this important journey towards a new facility to serve the youth of Huntington County.

“The Parkview Boys & Girls Club is thankful to all of our supporters for their belief in our project,” said Mandy Reber, executive director. “By transforming our city block into a clubhouse and safe play space for the Huntington community, the Club will offer much-needed programming and resources to enrich and enhance the lives of our local youth.”

The Parkview Boys & Girls Club is less than 10% away from the $3.5 million project. According to the staff of the Club, the project could not have been completed without the support of the community and their giving hearts. Homer Hiner, a donor to this campaign, was not aware of the Club’s impact until he became a part of the capital campaign. “We knew about the Club, but I had no real concept of the impact their programs had until Marj started working on the campaign,” he said. “After I attended a couple of their events and saw the facility they were working in, I knew we had to help.” Ground breaking will be held on Monday, October 6 at 6 p.m. All community members are welcome to join in the celebration.
